Delighted ‘Yellowstone’ Fans Reserve Their Stay And Sleep At Dutton Ranch

Yellowstone TV

Filmed at Chief Joseph Ranch, which is located in the Montana wilderness along the Bitterroot River settled between the Bitterroot and the Sapphire Mountains, is home to the fictional television series Yellowstone’s Dutton Ranch. Actual film locations are located between Utah and western Montana. While interior scenes were mostly filmed at the Utah Film Studio in Park City, the exteriors are shot on location.

Although it looks like the Dutton family is residing in a log cabin, it is not a real place. The cast and crew spent most of the series filming at the 5,000-square-foot Chief Joseph Ranch, a working ranch and family home. The real-life location is stunning. The ranch is open to the public when not in use, and the two log cabins can be rented out during the summer.

Located in Darby, Montana, the Chief Joseph Ranch is a working cattle ranch. All of the timber and stone used in the construction of the ranch were sourced from the property itself. Chief Joseph Ranch, includes a 5,000-square-foot lodge built in 1916, a summer home for the family of William Ford. The current owner now rents two cabins to the public and operates it as a guest ranch from June through August where you’ll find horses and cattle.

For Rent

Built in 1916, the cabin served as housing for the lodge’s domestic staff. Currently, the cabin serves as a guest cabin, utilized by fisherman and vacationers in the Bitterroot Valley. Located approximately 50 feet from the Lodge, the Fisherman Cabin overlooks the Bitterroot River, providing 360 degree views of the Bitterroot Mountains and the Sapphire Mountains.
