Helping Save Our Reefs Reef Renewal International

Twenty years ago, Ken Nedimyer saw a troubling pattern in the decline of the reefs of the Florida Keys. Inspired to find a solution, he started their first coral nursery. He did not have much guidance, as not many people were working in reef restoration yet.

Reef Restoration Foundation is a not-for-profit social enterprise that is establishing ocean-based coral nurseries using a proven method, which is a part of the solution for a healthy Great Barrier Reef.

Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire is an NGO founded in 2012. The project started with just a few corals in one nursery. Today, over 30,900 corals have been planted back to Bonaire’s reefs.

Reef Renewal USA inspires volunteers to restore and protect coral reefs systems for future generations by using education, innovation, and science through grassroots community involvement.
